Gateway Formal is our oldest division.
We offer a full line of footwear for the formalwear customer. Our shoes are
made of Polythane, which is the best material for the rigors of the rental
market. These shoes are manufactured using a High-Tech process called
"direct-attach" injection molding. That means the soles do not fall
off. We actually melt the sole onto the upper material at very high
temperatures. There is no glue to break down when a prom rental decides to go
swimming in your tux and shoes. The insoles are made with our sturdy Custom
Cushion foam contruction that is easy to clean, will not hold odors, and
stays "cushy" for a long time. We have all of the other features
you would expect in a well made shoe : steel shank, notched heel to protect
pant cuffs, blind eyelets with metal reinforcement, and, of course, premium
round shoestrings with durable tips for easy lacing.
We also have added a few other
features into our Formalwear shoes. All of our insoles are treated with an
antibacterial agent to keep the parts of the shoe that you can not clean from
getting smelly. We also have the tongues of all of our lace-up shoes attached
to the upper so they do not get mangled. Finally, all of our shoes are
